| HOW CAN I DONATE? I accept paypal donations either by direct transfer or credit card and can accept US dollars, Euro and pounds. Just click on the button at the top and fill in the form. It's quick and easy. HOW MUCH/LITTLE WILL HELP? Even a couple dollars helps a lot! We have very economical hosting plans and I am always looking around for better solutions. However, at the moment we are spread over three servers and have bandwidth totals upwards of 75 gigs per month and growing! The bills keep escalating the larger we get, so your couple dollars makes a big difference - helps us maintain our current downloads and add more things for you almost every week. ~$.50 or less would be a waste as the whole thing goes to pay paypal for the transaction fee. WHY SHOULD I DONATE? OK, I'm going to reveal personal info here, so if you don't want the sob story, you might want to skip this part. :) I had a scare a while back in which my funds were suddenly cut for a couple months. When I went over "unnecessary" expenditures, the sims site bills *had* to be on the list. I was lucky in that I was gifted enough to keep the site up for 6 more months. Since then, my situation has improved somewhat, so I'm not worried now, but the experience did make me realize a few things. 1) I've put an immense amount of effort into this site and maybe it seems silly, but I'm kinda attached to it now. I actually cried when I thought about getting rid of it altogether. 2) It's really very vulnerable to being instantly gone if something changes in my finances. 3) The site provides a service. I was emailed with good wishes by a number of people who really like the site and either can't afford to pay for subscriptions (to pay sites) or donate or are too young to do so. I decided I would really make an effort to keep the site going regardless of my financial situation and the only way I know how to do that is to put a donation button up. HOW DO I KNOW YOU'RE NOT GETTING TONS OF DONATIONS? YOU COULD BE LIVIN' LARGE ON MY HARD EARNED MONEY. Trust me. That's not happening. If I am lucky enough to have more than one months worth of expenses in donations at the time they come due, any additional would be held over for the next month. All money donated goes to pay for keeping the site going. Our total donations and expenses are shared with the staff every month as well. WHAT DO I GET FOR DONATING? Well, the need to have a donators only area was great. So now, when you donate, you will receive a password by email that is good for all the files that are currently on the donator area. I have a hard time keeping those things for only a select few, so they are rotated out to the main site after three months and new files are added at the beginning of each month and often in the middle of the month too.
